The first week of the 2024-25 academic year has been a whirlwind of activities:
- New students were welcomed to campus on August 23 with a new luminary tradition. Students were paired with mentors for a celebratory luminary lighting session in the university’s Quad. Mentors presented the incoming students with a unique class medallion they will carry during their time at Ïã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Íø and wear as part of their academic regalia at their commencement ceremony.
- The following morning, more than 600 students, faculty and staff continued the tradition of beginning an academic year through service to the community by gathering school supplies for K-12 students throughout Berks County.
- Activities and offerings for the first week of classes included free breakfasts, a lunch for commuting students, puppy yoga, a welcome-back dinner for international students, big-screen bingo and a trip to an Allentown IronPigs baseball game.
