Biography

Dr. Genevieve Karki completed her Doctorate of Musical Arts at Boston University where her dissertation research was on the self-efficacy of non-professional musicians with a focus on gender and cultural influences. She continues to expand her research in these areas with presentations and posters accepted at state and national conferences. She holds a Master鈥檚 in Music Education from Duquesne University, and a BS in Music Education is from Penn State University.  She has taught at both Penn State Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Area Community College were she was also the music discipline lead. She directed several college vocal and instrumental ensembles and was the musical director for several musicals at both HACC and Penn State Harrisburg including 鈥淭he 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee鈥 and 鈥淟ittle Shop of Horrors鈥. She is the director of worship at Lampeter UMC, and is the staff accompanist for the HGMC in Harrisburg, PA.
